After 25 years on state and federal benches, former state Supreme Court Justice Carlos R. Moreno hung up his robes March 1 to join Irell & Manella LLP, where he is of counsel. He will advise the firm's trial and appellate lawyers from the Irell's office in Century City. Gov. Jerry Brown has not yet nominated a successor.
