HP Wins Bidding War for 3Par

Hewlett-Packard Co. will buy 3Par Inc. for roughly $2.3 billion after Dell Inc. dropped out Thursday of an intense bidding war.

PALO ALTO Hewlett-Packard Co. clinched a deal to buy 3Par Inc. for roughly $2.3 billion after Dell Inc. dropped out Thursday of an intense bidding war for the Fremont-based data storage company.
