Santa Clara crime lab problems led to system improvements.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Michael Kresser, executive director of the 6th District Appellate Program, cited problems with the crime laboratory in Santa Clara County to support his position that the new crime lab in Orange County should not be under the control of the district attorney ("Santa Clara Cases Prove Need for Unbiased Labs," Oct. 31, 2008). He believes that district attorneys cannot objectively oversee lab work being done in criminal cases.
