Mortgage Probe Claims More Lawyers

Five more lawyers accused of cheating homeowners desperate to modify mortgages have lost or given up their licenses to practice, in a probe that has drawn scrutiny of 250 lawyers.

SANTA ANA - Five more lawyers accused of cheating homeowners desperate to modify mortgages have lost or given up their right to practice law, the State Bar announced Tuesday.

Among the lawyers is a 75-year-old businessman from Costa Mesa who launched the American Basketball Association, the World Football League and the World Hockey Association in the 1970s.
