Mergers & Acquistions at U.S. Law Firms Down in 2nd Quarter

The number of U.S. law firms joining forces dipped in the second quarter after climbing in the first three months of the year.

The number of U.S. law firms joining forces dipped in the second quarter after climbing in the first three months of the year. Nine mergers and acquisitions took place between April and June, compared to 14 that occurred during the same period in 2008, according to a report released Wednesday by legal consultancy Hildebrandt.
