Under Fire, Ex-Official Leaves New Job

Placer County Superior Court's former Court Executive Officer John Mendes is not only facing accusations of taking nearly $500,000 in unapproved salary increases from his old employer. Now, he's left his new job.

SAN FRANCISCO - Placer County Superior Court's former court executive officer is not just facing accusations of taking nearly $500,000 in unapproved salary increases from his old employer. Now he's left his new job. John Mendes, who had been finance manager of Yolo County Superior Court for a little over a month, is no longer with the court as of Wednesday, according to Yolo Court Executive Officer Jim Perry.
