Richard J. Riordan, the former Los Angeles mayor and state education secretary, had his law license suspended briefly for failing to perform continuing legal education.

LICENSE SUSPENDED - Richard J. Riordan, the former Los Angeles mayor and state education secretary, had his law license suspended briefly for failing to perform continuing legal education.

According to State Bar discipline records, Riordan was suspended on July 1 and reinstated on Sept. 10.

Riordan served as Los Angeles mayor from 1993 to 2001, and as secretary of education under Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger from 2003 to 2005. He presently is of counsel ...
