Bike Maker Ordered to Pay Injured Man

A Bel Air man won a $957,700 arbitration award against companies he alleged sold him a bike with defects that caused him to tumble off and break his hip.

LOS ANGELES - A Bel Air man won a $957,700 arbitration award against companies he alleged sold him a bike with defects that caused him to tumble off and break his hip.

The plaintiff, Peter Munson, 66, said manufacturer Pacific Cycle and retail vendor Target Corp. were to blame for the August 2007 accident that left him with $200,000 in medical expenses for a hip replacement.
