LOS ANGELES - Prosecutor Ken Lamb, a former police sergeant and 25-year veteran of the Los Angeles County district attorney's office, died on Tuesday night after a battle with tongue cancer. He was 55.

Only a week earlier, 200 attorneys, judges, police officers and friends had gathered to celebrate his retirement.
