Even a fire drill couldn’t keep Century City Bar Association incoming president Fay Arfa from honoring the association’s accomplished lawyers of the year. As sirens rang and lights flashed, the dinner guests at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza applauded and whooped for award winners: securities litigator David Siegel, intellectual property lawyer Dominique Shelton, bankruptcy lawyer Gary E. Klausner, new media lawyer Ian C. Ballon and criminal lawyer Donald Etra. As it turned out, fortunately, it was a false alarm. The dinner, which took place on March 21, was the 4,000-member association’s 44th annual installation banquet. Members welcomed new board officers for the 2012-13 year, including Treasurer Anthony V. Salerno of Anthony V. Salerno & Associates; Secretary Steven L. Hoch of Morris Polich & Purdy LLP; Vice President Loren J. Beck of Floyd, Skeren & Kelly LLP and President-Elect Francie R. Gorowitz of Rosenfeld, Meyer & Susman LLP. There was also a swearing in of the association’s 2012-13 board of governors. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Christine Byrd officiated. -Erica Phillips
