Governor Reappoints State's Public Defender for Four Years
SACRAMENTO - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced Thursday he had reappointed Michael Hersek state public defender, a position overseeing an office of 50 lawyers who represent indigent inmates in direct appeals of their death sentences.

SACRAMENTO - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced Thursday he had reappointed Michael Hersek state public defender, a position overseeing an office of 50 lawyers who represent indigent inmates in direct appeals of their death sentences.
Hersek, 44, of San Francisco, was first appointed to the four-year term in 2004.
