LOS ANGELES - A Los Angeles County Superior Court jury on Thursday ordered Dole Food Co. to pay $2.5 million in punitive damages for exposing five Nicaraguan men to a pesticide that caused their sterility.
The jury began deliberating Wednesday afternoon, and the verdict was announced at 3 p.m. Thursday.
