SALARIES UP - Sullivan & Cromwell is increasing associate salaries by $20,000, sources said Friday. The move by the New York-based firm, which has offices in Los Angeles and Palo Alto, means first-year associates now will earn $145,000. The raise vaults starting salaries past the $135,000 base pay that recently has become the trend among top-tier West Coast firms.
