'Schlage' Is Victory for Employees, But Carries Mixed Message for Employers

Oncidi and Christine de Bretteville - The California Court of Appeal has put an end to the lingering uncertainty surrounding the use of the "inevitable disclosure" doctrine in California. This doctrine essentially permits a company to prevent a former employee from working for a competitor even in the absence of evidence that the employee has taken or is actually using trade secrets.
