Parks Earned Another Chance

Forum Column - By Melanie E. Lomax - There were compelling reasons to reappoint Chief Bernard Parks to a second term as head of the Los Angeles Police Department, such as his record of reform. It is dishonest to contend that Parks has not reformed the department. This chief has responded forcefully and effectively to the LAPD's problems of excessive force, racial abuse and failure to discipline officers for misconduct.
