Must Districts Compel Urine Tests for Students in Activities?

Forum Column - By Rob DeKoven - Last year, the U.S. Supreme Court held that schools must permit students to form religious clubs in schools and to have access to school facilities, even for prayer. Good News Club v. Millford Cent. Schs. , 533 U.S. 98 (2001). This year, the court will decide if schools can require students to pass a mandatory, random and suspicionless drug test as a condition of being in the religious club or any other activity.
