Dicta Column - By Paul J. Virgo - Lawyers forcibly removed from a case or who withdraw for some other reason often are confused about what they must do with the client's file. Frustration with the client or successor lawyer and problems with an unpaid bill can exacerbate the situation. Lawyers in this situation must step back and realize that failing to handle this situation correctly could result in State Bar discipline.
