Scandal Sparks Run for DA Post
SAN BERNARDINO - District Attorney Dennis Stout is no stranger to the rigors of campaigning for elected office. To become Rancho Cucamonga's first mayor more than a decade ago, Stout fought a fiercely contested race against someone with the same name. In 1994, he waged a heated duel with San Bernardino City Attorney Jim Penman for the district attorney seat, shelling out more than $300,000 on the way to victory.
