Man Who Abused Dog Is Mentally Ill, Court Rules
LOS ANGELES - Nobody disputed that David Dyer slit a dog's throat and planned to cook the animal and eat it. The Oroville man pleaded guilty to felony animal cruelty in 1997 and went to prison, and three psychologists later concluded in a parole hearing that he had committed the crime with "force and violence," according to court records.
