L.A. Law-Enforcement Probes Require Independent Counsel
It is shocking that three officers connected to the Rampart scandal have sued the city and county of Los Angeles for malicious prosecution. An upside to this suit, however, would be that an aggressive defense could help determine the extent of the corruption in the Los Angeles Police Department and would lead to a truly independent investigation into the three officers who allegedly were at the center of the scandal.
