Victoria B. Henley, director for 26 years of the California Commission on Judicial Performance,announced she will retire at the end of the year, earning plaudits for bringing integrity to the investigations of allegedly bad judges.

Still troubling her is a concern that neither the legal community nor the public understand how the commission works, if they even know it exists.
