Bill would allow bar not to share certain student data from law schools

Recently amended legislation would prohibit the State Bar from publicly disclosing data shared by law schools or "testing entities" that the agency uses to study issues related to the bar exam.

Recently amended legislation would protect from public disclosure any data shared by law schools or testing entities with the State Bar that the agency uses to study issues related to the bar exam.

The new language in state Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson's bill, SB 690, was requested by the bar as it seeks to review how bar exam takers' ability levels impact test performance.
