Assembly bill would use state funds for deported veterans' legal needs

AB 386 is one of several pieces of legislation attempting to address the issue of non-citizen U.S. veterans deported because of crimes.

A California Assembly bill moving closer to becoming law would use state funds to increase access to legal services for noncitizen U.S. military veterans who were deported because of crimes.

Introduced by Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher, D-San Diego, AB 386 is one of several state and national pieces of legislation attempting to address the issue.
