California Supreme Court deals setback to planned new city in Los Angeles

The justices ruled that state wildlife officials did an inadequate analysis of the climate change impacts of plans to develop the idle Newhall Ranch into a community of 58,000 people.

The state Supreme Court dealt a major setback to a developer hoping to build a new city on the outskirts of Los Angeles, ruling Monday that government officials failed to properly analyze the project's climate change impacts.
