O'Melveny & Myers LLP San Francisco Patent


Two archrivals waged a courtroom patent war in an Oregon federal court and Riley's client, Mentor Graphics Corp., came out on top against Synopsys Inc.


Riley led an O'Melveny team that secured a $36.4 million award in lost profits and $242,000 in reasonable royalties from jurors in October. Jurors found that Synopsys infringed a Mentor Graphics patent related to the simulation and prototyping of integrated circuits.
