In an ongoing battle to determine what stem cells technologies can be patented in Europe, Haile scored a win last summer.


She filed a patent application for her client International Stem Cell Corporation in 2006 in the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office. The application was for a patent that covers a technique that creates stem cells using only maternal DNA, called parthenotes.
