In March 2014, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed Johnson's win on behalf of his client Rogers Family Co. in a case over patents on coffee machine cartridges.


The appeal was based on a patent infringement lawsuit filed against Rogers Family, a coffee roasting company, by Keurig Inc., maker of single-serve coffee brewers.
