Given that many bar associations, all the way up to the American Bar Association, have separate sections and seminars for only female attorneys, I was not surprised when I saw the headline "Female attorneys strike out on their own," topping the story about three female attorneys opening their own law firm (Feb. 12). The article - especially its headline - and women-only attorney groups and seminars are classic examples of the soft bigotry of low expectations.
