Irell & Manella LLP Los Angeles Patent


With guidance from Irell partner Benjamin W. Hattenbach, San Jose-based Tessera Technologies Inc. transitioned from defendant in two contentious patent licensing lawsuits to the beneficiary of a $176 million settlement.


The lawsuits were filed by Taiwanese chip packaging company Powertech Technology Inc., which had entered into a licensing agreement with Tessera in 2003.
