Rhodes helped Facebook Inc. clinch a preliminary win in December in a big-money patent case.


Rembrandt Social Media LP sued Facebook for infringing technology involved with its "Like" button and is seeking roughly $500 million in damages.


Rhodes and his Cooley partners Heidi L. Keefe and Mark R. Weinstein, who frequently work as a team on patent cases, focused not just on the main infringement arguments but attacked the damages figure.
