Attorney general intervenes in union spending case, pushes court for ruling

California Attorney General Kamala Harris this week interjected in a First Amendment challenge over union spending by schoolteachers against the California Teachers Association.

California Attorney General Kamala Harris interjected late Monday in a First Amendment challenge from schoolteachers over union spending by the California Teachers Association. The lawsuit, filed in the Central District, claims the union improperly spends teachers' fees on political issues with which members disagree.
