The Howrey LLP estate filed proposed settlements Thursday with a bankruptcy judge that would resolve its claims against two law firms that took on former partners after the firm collapsed.
Bankruptcy law allows a dissolved firm's estate to recoup fees from work that began at the firm and was completed elsewhere.
