Winston secures victory in league's softball playoff final

Winston & Strawn emerged as the winner of the Landau Lawyers League's 2013 fall softball playoffs, beating Allen Matkins in the final game by a score of 13-9. The only home run of the game came from Max Shapiro of Allen Matkins. Drew Robinson of Winston & Strawn was named the game's MVP. Winston previously outplayed Hinshaw & Culbertson, winning 17-7 in the semifinal game. That game saw home runs by Winston & Strawn's Jason Vaughn and Ian Eisner along with Hinshaw & Culbertson's Brian Villeda. Jennifer Dodge of Winston got the MVP nod. In the other playoff semifinal, Allen Matkins routed Sidley Austin, 22-5. Max Shapiro and Todd Whitman, both of Allen Matkins, hit home runs in the game. MVP honors went to Brittany Lew of Allen Matkins. — Ben Adlin
