Bay Area antitrust legend dead at 81

Antitrust legend M. Laurence "Larry" Popofsky, senior counsel at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP in San Francisco, passed away last week.

Legendary antitrust litigator M. Laurence "Larry" Popofsky, who successfully argued a 1977 U.S. Supreme Court case that transformed antitrust law, died of natural causes May 9. A senior counsel at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP's San Francisco office, Popofsky was 81.
