Toyota to pay $3.4B to end class

A class action against Toyota Motor Co. over inadequate rust protection in approximately 1.5 million vehicles neared its conclusion on Thursday after U.S. District Judge Fernando M. Olguin took under submission a joint motion for an order to grant final approval of a settlement that is potentially worth $3.4 billion and a plaintiffs' motion for $9.75 million in fees, expenses and service awards.
