Bill would require attorneys to disclose pro bono work, donations

Proposed legislation would mandate information be reported to the State Bar and posted on the lawyers' online bar profiles.

Attorneys would be required to publicly disclose the amount of money they donate to legal aid organizations and the number of pro bono hours they work each year under legislation pending in Sacramento.

The bill would mandate the information be reported to the State Bar and posted on the lawyers' profiles on the bar's website.
