UC Hastings hopes to boost appeal by building academic village

UC San Francisco, an expected co-anchor of the village, has also agreed to jointly develop hundreds of new housing units that will serve students at both schools.

UC Hastings College of the Law hopes to transform its valuable San Francisco real estate into a thriving academic village that will help attract higher-caliber students.

The law school's plan already has support from the state in the form of $55 million to build a new, state-of-the-art academic building.
