The Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association held its annual dinner on April 5 at the Empress Pavilion Restaurant in Chinatown, Los Angeles. SCCLA installed new leadership and honored those who have made an impact on the Chinese community and the legal community at large. Producer Teddy Zee received the Impact Award; Kathay Feng, executive director of Common Cause, was presented with the Community Hero Award; and Janice Fukai, alternate public defender of Los Angeles County, was given the Justice Award. Additionally, Judge Holly Fujie was recognized for her appointment as judge, while Ronald S.W. Lew was commemorated for his 30 years of judicial service.
