The Beverly Hills Bar Association honored Justice Norman L. Epstein, of the California Court of Appeals, and trial lawyer Thomas V. Girardi, of the law firm Girardi | Keese, at the Second Annual BHBA Litigation Awards Dinner on Feb. 15 at The Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Epstein received the “Ronald M. George Award for Judicial Excellence,” named for the former California Supreme Court Chief Justice who retired last year. Girardi received the “Excellence in Advocacy Award,” which honors a trial lawyer whose case successes have resulted from a combination of legal skills, trial strategy and courtroom teamwork, and who also gives back to the legal profession and the community. “Justice Epstein and Tom Girardi are standouts among their peers and have helped advance the legal profession in myriad ways both in the courtroom and in the classroom,” said BHBA President Lawrence H. Jacobson. Jonathan Stein, chair of the BHBA Litigation Section and the Litigation Awards Dinner said, “The Beverly Hills Bar Association is pleased to honor these dedicated leaders for their vast professional accomplishments and tremendous community service.”
