The Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel held an awards luncheon on Jan. 13 at the House of Blues music venue in West Hollywood. The honoree for Counsel of the Year was Alan Saxe, senior vice president of business and legal affairs for the Oprah Winfrey Network. The Law Firm of the Year award was given to Manatt, Phelps & Phillips. “It is truly an honor to be recognized in this way by such a distinguished organization as the Association of Media & Entertainment Counsel,” said Alan Brunswick, chair of Manatt’s entertainment and media practice group. “Few firms in the industry can provide clients with the comprehensive counsel that Manatt does, with nationally-recognized transactional, regulatory and litigation capabilities.”
