Daimler sues Amazon.com, alleges trademark infringement

Daimler AG, the German automotive corporation which owns Mercedes-Benz, filed a complaint Friday for trademark infringement against Amazon.com Inc. in the Central District of California.

LOS ANGELES — Daimler AG, the German automotive corporation that owns Mercedes-Benz, sued Amazon.com Inc. Friday for trademark infringement.

The lawsuit claims Amazon is willfully providing a venue for the sale of counterfeit Mercedes-Benz wheel center caps, and seeks a declaratory judgment of infringement, permanent injunctive relief, and damages. Daimler AG v. Amazon.com Inc., 17-CV07674 (C.D. Cal., filed Oct. 20, 2017).
