New Uber GC needs board cooperation and support, experts say
Tony West, the recent PepsiCo Inc. general counsel and executive vice president of government affairs and former Department of Justice associate attorney general may have a stellar resume, but according to industry experts, it will take more than that to get Uber back on course.
Problems for Uber Technologies Inc. continue to mount as Tony West prepares to take the reins of its legal department.
West was the head of the civil division of the U.S. Justice Department during the Obama administration and is the chief legal officer at PepsiCo Inc. But several lawyers said it would take more than a sterling resume to get the embattled ridesharing giant back on course.
