Police union hopes ADR will streamline workers’ comp system

The union that represents Los Angeles police says it hopes a new alternative dispute resolution system will streamline a convoluted workers’ compensation system and address concerns over its deferred retirement option plan that allows officers to collect pensions early in exchange for five additional years on the force.
