I find myself appreciating quiet as I would not have anticipated before reaching 51 years of age. Although I was always eager to grow up, I never believed I would be "mature." I was talkative and mischievous as a kid. Those traits made me loud. I have made a living by arguing. Now I am satisfied to stay silent. Perhaps I will be mistaken for thoughtful.
