The race to register: Will copyright applicants win or lose?

Anxious U.S. copyright owners need only wait until next year for a conclusive answer as to whether a plaintiff must have a certificate of copyright registration in hand before initiating a copyright infringement lawsuit, or whether the filing of application alone suffices.
