Uber still faces the prospect of a hefty PAGA payday
When the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals handed down its decision, it was not a big surprise. The news is not all good for Uber though.

When the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals handed down its decision in O'Connor v. Uber Technologies on Sept. 25 (2018 DJDAR 9663), it was not a big surprise. The 9th Circuit effectively dismantled a class of hundreds of thousands of Uber drivers who had alleged that the ride-hailing giant misclassified them as independent contractors and failed to reimburse their expenses or pay tips.
