OC defenders alleged hundreds of thousands of client calls recorded

Public defenders in Orange County say it’s likely several hundred thousand privileged phone calls have been recorded just in their county and the phone company responsible for the recordings is lying to the court about how much it knows, according to newly filed court documents.

Public defenders in Orange County say it's likely several hundred thousand privileged phone calls have been recorded just in their county and the phone company responsible for the recordings is lying to the court about how much it knows, according to newly filed court documents.

The public defender's office is battling Global Tel Link, the provider of the county's jailhouse telephones, on two fronts.
