The State Bar’s Board of Trustees discussed Friday a possible 30 percent licensing fee increase, about $100, for 2020 based on next year’s preliminary budget.
The 2019 preliminary budget, adopted by the board Friday, projects an operating deficit of about $15.3 million, which is expected to double to $31.9 million in 2020 and rise as high as $49 million by 2024.
