State Bar fee increase likely, legislator says

State Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson, D-Santa Barbara, said she expects a State Bar fee increase to pass the Legislature, following the results of a state audit. Though the State Bar initially sought a $100 base fee increase, the auditor instead proposed a $71 increase in a report issued April 30.

A State Bar base fee increase will likely be passed in the Legislature, following the results of a state audit, the head of the California Senate’s Judiciary Committee said Tuesday.

State Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson, D-Santa Barbara, the committee chair, is sponsoring this year’s fee bill, SB 176.
