ABA moves 2021 meeting to Chicago, not Atlanta

The American Bar Association decided Friday to move a 2021 meeting to Chicago, Illinois. A proposed Atlanta, Georgia location was protested by ABA members who opposed the state’s new abortion law.

The American Bar Association decided Friday to move a 2021 meeting to Chicago, Illinois. A proposed Atlanta, Georgia location was protested by ABA members who opposed the state's new abortion law.

The meeting, originally in Orlando, Florida, was moved due to economic reasons and will result in "significant savings," according to a statement from ABA president Robert M. Carlson. The ABA is headquartered in Chicago.
